Stem Club-ages 9 to 13

Each month, we will be working with a different STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) concept. We will use simple tools and materials to create fun and engaging experiments that challenge the minds of the participants. Our goal is to create a fun and engaging environment that fosters experimentation and learning.

Starting in September, we will be building marble mazes using different materials, such as playdough, cardboard, and Legos. Marble mazes incorporate STEM concepts, including gravity, friction, potential and kinetic energy, momentum, force, and motion, as well as engineering design principles such as problem-solving, designing, and testing through the engineering design process. Additionally, they utilize mathematics, specifically geometry, measurement, and spatial reasoning.

In October, we will be creating with popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and clothespins. We will be designing and building harmonicas, bridges, and catapults. These experiments use the scientific principles of tension, compression, load distribution, and the ideas of force and motion.
